After years of debating whether Arnold would come back into the shoes of his T-800 model, the debate may be finished. The Clinton-News Record is reporting that Roland Kickinger, a former bodybuilder, will now be considered the earlier model of the Skynet line in Terminator Salvation. From the quote of Roland, it looks his youthful age will be contributed to the fact that it's 20 years before Arnold rolled off the production line.

Its possible they could be system model 101, 102 ect. Is Kyle Reese like 5 years old in this? in the first film he was talking about the 600 series and how the 8oos were new. A lot of the information in the article could be wrong or not presented correctly as it looks like its from a local news paper. Could be total misinformation from the producers.
As to the series number, the TV show (and how cannonical that is is debatable) and T3 (which shouldn't be cannon AT ALL in my opinion! lol) they've pretty much established that there ARE deferent models within a series, but unless I'm mistaken, it was different model numbers like T-888,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and so forth. Concerning the 'new' terminator, maybe I'm reading it wrong, but is it possible that he's a human that Skynet uses as a basic template for the Terminator flesh-suits? That could account for the 20 year discrepancy. I mean how old was Arnold in the first movie? Mid to late 30's, I think.
I think that they are going to have a lot of changes that they can blame on the timeline changes from all three of the first movies.
Before the first movie Sarah probably met a nice man. He wasn from the future, but they had a kid and he became the leader of the resistance. skynet developed a time travel device and sent back a terminator to get rid of the kid. The resistance was a little too late to stop the terminator being sent back.
At the end of the first movie there was a wreckage of the first t-800 that had come back. That changed how and when skynet was made.
in T2 instead of being a total fluke of hardware and software, skynet became its own child, and if it hadn caused more changes in the timeline by sending back another more advanced terminator and prompting Sarah to destroy skynet before it was "born", things might have turned out the same as the second time through after the first movie. So things changed again.
Even though I think the third movie was crap,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I think it had a really good explanation of what was going on. Each intervention in the time line creates a new timeline and future history. Before the third intervention, in the third movie,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I think that skynet was created differently again,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and that the only evidence of the other timelines were the interventions that the previous "skynets" had made. This prompted the third skynet to cause changes that would ensure skynet would be "born".
To do so it sent the TX to infect and propagate a new version of skynet over the internet and world wide networks. The thing is this caused yet another timeline,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
